As could be expected, the people of Olostin's hold are properly respectful to the dieties of nature, such as Silvanus, Mielikki, Chauntea, and Lathander, and it is a matter of no small concern when an ill omen strikes the shrine dedicated to Chauntea, the Earthmother. Fungus, black and purple like an old bruise, covers the shrine overnight, requiring many hours of work from the priests to clear away the corruption the next morning. A few days later, farmers stumble in, babbling about zombies in the fields. Auguries show that if the menace is not stopped by the next full moon, due at the end of the week, then the corruption will spread to consume all of Olostin's Hold.
Following the advice passed down from the auguries, the people quickly send for aid: Vall the brave warrior, Alys the undead slayer, and Ethediira and Fig Faun, druids of the High Forest. Although they are not the only adventurers sent out in hopes of finding and stopping the corruption, they are clearly the best; the hopes and lives of eight hundred people rest upon their shoulders.
((If you wish to buy any equipment, please make a note in this thread as to what you're going to buy and the total cost; the people are willing to pay for any reasonable expenses incurred on the trip (if you have any questions as to what 'reasonable' is, just ask =p ). I'm expecting this adventure to move about 1-2 posts per person per day. I'm usually available in chat in the evenings (9:45pm PST and later), so it's quite possible to get several posts done in rapid succession in a single evening if everyone shows up.))
