The city of Neverwinter, like most large cities, has a graveyard. For the most part, the dead rest in peace. Sometimes, however...
Over the past few days, traces of foul, black water have been seen in the Neverwinter River. Now, reports are surfacing of the dead rising in the great graveyard, and everyone is pointing to the tainted water. A call has gone out for paladins, the paragons of purity, to step forward and cleanse the water, and thus hopefully stop the restless dead.
Three paladins have answered this call: Volshebnik of Mystra, Caisa of Sune, and Cahlviann of Lathander. A ranger from the High Forest, Tasla Goldentree, has also come to investigate the tainted water, as has a wizard named Vedel Heron. The five are currently in the temple of Helm, where they are planning what to do now.
