Time passes, our heroes and heroines recover. Tyrone makes light of the days using his enchanted mandolin to bring even greater attention to himself. Syonique donates her time and her funds to the victims of the now past calamities. Pavel spends his days in quiet meditation, the golden charm of Lathander glowing dimly around his neck, and Averli persues more larcenous activities, while the memory of THAT MONK, still burns in the back of her skull.
Soon the festival of highharvestide has past, and winter reigns it's ugly head. The everpresant rumors of an orcish hoard increase almost dayly. Then the first raids begin. Refugies from nearby comunities begin to pour into Waterdeep, each claiming to have been in a village attacked by orcs. More disturbing than the rumors of the orcish hoard, is the rumor of a white dragon also attacking the villages. Although there is no proof of their connection to each other, countless rumor's place them together, and the coming year, the year of the rogue dragons, only highten's the suspicion. One of the more common rumors is that the dragon is secretly directing the orcs every action. Syonique however has other suspisions.
It does not surprise her when a messanger boy from captain Luth arives at her room the next day. The captain is very quick and to the point, although there is an undercurrant of irritation in his voice that Sy has not noticed since when she and her companions originally arived in Waterdeep.
"You told me when you originally arived here that you were fleeing an orcish hoard. The recent activities of what I believe to be the same hoard have caused the council of waterdeep to become worried. In response to this, I would like to send you out to infiltrate this army, find out who it's leaders are, and what their goals and agenda is. It's not critical, but I would also like to find out if there is any connection between the recent orc raids and dragon attacks, and to eliminate the orc leader if possible."
"I can't force you to take such a dangerous mission, but the rewards will be substantial, and you will have the thanks of all of Waterdeep."
At about this time a golden haired sun elf walks into the room.
"The orcish hoard is on the move again, they're only 3 days march from Waterdeep"
"This is, disturbing news Aseroth, thank you." Turning back to Syonique once more, "I beseech your aid, if this army were to lay siege to Waterdeep, the danger to it's citizens would be great indeed."
